When we talk about India; we hear many great things, including traditions, cultures, and diversity. Then what is lacking behind? The answer is Mindset. Orthodox thinking is the only major thing that pulls us back. And it all starts when we skip the wrongs in the textbook a child holds.
And yes our education system has a lot to do with it.

The Indian education system is a wide web that not only stands in India but other countries too. It was highly driven on the British implanted STEM subjects, in the 1840s, and 130yrs now it still is driven.
Interestingly enough British education system has changed itself tremendously, and yet we still have a lot to catch up on.
Results show, that students are scared.
This is sad for any age, but especailly for high schoolers because it is suppose to be a time when they are changing and making friends not worrying if they are good enough. - Charles Mason.
Now did you know that there is an entire website where can visit and check every policy change made in British Education System. There isn't one for Indian education, want to know why? Because there are no changes made worth stating.
If you think that maybe I am getting ahead of myself, then tell me what is the most asked question in your institution? Did it relate to science? English? No.
The most asked question in any Indian institution is the same that was used 130 years ago.
Will this be on the test?
or maybe a bit more intellectual one.
Will I get marks if I write this?
The one thing that runs in the veins of the students in the curriculum is, fear. If not then why are all the major changes made related to examination? And not other issues.
For example, in 2017 major examination changes were taken in advance. And 2018 it was told that the focus from theory would be shifted, yet no reduction in pressure was recorded.
When we say that CBSE is focusing on STEM subjects, we don't mean they aren't important, we mean they make a student's entire knowledge come down to few equations.
If not then why is a child not good at painting is told that they might not have the talent for it, and one not good at math are just isn't trying hard enough. Why are subjects as great as literature have no space? yet there is havoc created every time JEE advances are postponed?
There is nothing wrong with validating them, it becomes a problem when the entire future lays down on it. One exam, pass or fail it will make your future.
We might say that marks do not give the reality of a child yet we promote that nothing can happen without them. Literally, just take a glance at your newspaper, you will see the coaching centers earning more than a man's salary only because they managed to collect toppers. Or as I like to call them, page one celebs.
No complaints and only gains make Jack a dull boy.
The education system rewards obidence. It rewards compilance. No matter how arbitary or valuless they maybe. No one never changed the world by obeying. -Issac Morehouse.
When I was researching for this blog, it took a lot of time because it was hard to find the official website of CBSE for complaints; then I realized that actually, the first one was the official site, I got thrown back that it has 8% rating and highly negative reviews.
There are currently 5649 complaints made, and only 443 resolved. Interestingly enough, according to the website pending complaints are 0.
There was a major backlash, relating to the chapter 'Ranga's marriage' the opening statement being the fact that it has an uncomfortable commentary on sexism and pedophilia. Now others say that it portrays the horrific reality of Indian society and hence is prominent. The gravity of the matter is that the chapter is not focusing on that child marriage is a sin but rather on the fact that one shouldn't marry a 'girl so small she doesn't even know how to bite her fingers.' (Quoted.)
The chapter also includes objectification, forgetting that females have names and are not just for the show.
The chapter undoubtedly should be deleted from the curriculum weirdly it has had its status for more than 10 years.
And not just chapters there are a lot of more problematic things our education system makes a norm, for example, uniforms. Now I know they put a hat of unity and that is what I am all for, yet when someone starts worry not about the education but about a 12 yr olds skirt length then it becomes a problem.
--------------------------------------------
The lack of sufficient funds is the main problem in the development of education. The outlay for study in Five Year Plans has been decreasing. Due to insufficient funds, most educational institutions lack infrastructure, science equipment, and libraries, etc. Due to this reason, desired results cannot be achieved.
The shortage of staff and awareness is astounding, in a country with such a high rate of unemployment.
The revised syllabus doesn't have much diversity or any of the detailed things that might be required for a student's knowledge.
We really need to focus on our education system, one flick, and everything can go down the hill.
What did we actually get?
The indian education system, it's a sevral years long process of converting a dreamer kid into a confused and unemplyable youngster. -Vishal Dev.
So after all this haze, and change and attempting what really happened? Apart from creating a highly pressurized generation with an even larger unemployed population.
CBSE has mastered the ability to not teach anything useful like sex education or LGBTQ+ inclusive chapters, rather focuses on religious bias ideologies and orthodox subtexts.
But of course, change is coming. A lot has evolved and for the better, but the rate of change is very slow. In a country with such a huge population and even greater mindsets, the change needs to be fast, or else we may get left behind. Which negates our history.
A country with amazing scholars does not appreciate literature as a career.
A country with a history of astounding medical discoveries has brought down medical expertise to an entrance exam.
A country where something unique happens every day, and yet less than 7% changes have been made since independence; Of course, I am talking about the changes that actually matter.
A country known for having the crown of the richest knowledge of Vedas has come down to a limit where students pray for something critical to happen so they won't have exams.
And a lot can be accomplished, honestly, there are a lot of things we can follow and maneuver in CBSE, but we don't. Just giving impractical excuses for decades and not actually facing the problem.
Every system has problems, and in a country, with 1.02 billion people it is really hard to manage, agreed.
But when are we going to use this number as an asset and not as justification?
When will we get the result?
When will we see the government and society actually recognizing a child's true talent?
You say these people who run out of the country are traitors, I say you never realized their potential. Obviously, they went away.
You say change is coming,
I just ask at what cost?
